The Shops Project by Neko-Vi The Shops Project by Neko-Vi
I worked on this for 4/5 days.
I haven't made pixel arts since long time!
I want to make and sell my dresses and clothes all around the world one day, so I'll need shops. I tried to figure out how these shops would look like =) in isometric pixel designs!~ The shop number 8 is inspired by the Genova old port. Many of these buildings would have a minimal-architecture style, some of them would have a floor dedicated only to haute couture or alternative styles like Lolita or Punk. The main external colour would be shades of cyan with black or white. Sometimes with bronze.

I put walking people so you can understand the scale and dimension of the buildings!
What is your favourite shop? =)

one more thing try to make the biggest building in center of ur designing and put the small one around it dont kill it in the corner pluse u need a an area to park the cars in it .... ... but after alll its goood looking forward for ur work

It's cool pixel art, that is for sure agreeable. And while the structural integrity of the buildings should be out of the question, I'd simply make a few suggestions. Instead of an extremely modernized look for each building, why not construct it in such a way that it reflects the culture and origin of the fashion it houses. For example, the Tokyo building can follow a more 'Japanese' color scheme, like red and white and yellow something like that.

Second, make sure all the buildings are geometrically scaled relative to each other. This may seem a bit odd but something just looks skewed from my perspective. Anyway, scratch that. I probably just need to adjust.

All in all, it's a great piece of work and would love to see more, and possibly more intricate, pixel art.

I think Milan is my favorite of these designs. I've also always enjoyed the 2.5D design layout for buildings, it's very game and fantasy oriented which adds to the effect of these being concepts.
The Genova one is very unique, I really like how the water shows ou logo rather than the building. Though this would not be as eye catching when driving by, it would grab the attention of people walking by.

Wow, those are really cool store designs! That'd be cool to make them a reality. :la:
I like the Milan, Tokyo, and Genoa designs best, in that order. I enjoy the colors, shapes, and designs of the first two, and just think the third's really cool and unusual.

Anyways, congrats on the DD! Have a nice day, and good luck making your dreams come true!

I'm the kind of person that couldn't care less about fashion, but if I saw one of these stores as I was walking down the street, I'd step inside and take a look around.

The sail boat piece that lays in the middle of the spherical pond reminds me of the art museum in Milwaukee. My husbands aunt helped designed that piece as she was a local architect shaping up down town :)

as an architecture major, you did a pretty good job for concepts.
however, I do have to agree with that critique; you need to place the genoa building in the center of the other buildings because its design makes it like a centerpiece.
I mean, you'd also have to consider where you'd be opening your shops, too.
having bright, reflective materials may actually be very dangerous if it's in a very urban area and people would have to drive past them.
I think it's all right to keep your buildings all cyan with black/white. it gives a certain theme to your shops, which would be like seeing the black and pink of victoria's secret, so it'd be more easily recognized from the street or some such.
but anyway, great job on the shops!

Te shops and the dresses mach each other very well. You will be extremly recognisable, for this style. Nice use of Bauhaus styled elements. My favorite one is the one with the big flat blue roof, that is a bit bigger than the building

I should note that I don't know much about isometric pixel art at all, but I read one of the critiques regarding scaling, and something does look off. However, for me it seems as though it might be an effect of the light/shading/shadows in terms of how the largest building is surrounded in so much white and lightness, and that the building closest to the left happens to have black accenting and is surrounded by dark tarmac and roads. I feel like it's that optical illusion thing going on where a white object in a black background will appear a bit smaller than a white object in the light background.

My favourite shops are shops number 2, 4, and 8. 6 is pretty cool too. The only problem I have with some of them is the giant windows, mostly for those with height, and me being afraid of heights. ^^; That aside, those would look pretty cool.

I like shops One and Six the most. But numbers Eight, Seven, and Five are very nice too. I don't care much for shops Two and Three, though. If I had to rank them from best to not-so-best, the order would be Six, One, Five, Seven, Eight, Four, Two, Three. Keep up the good work.

But... if I want to buy clothes in an alternative style... I would not enter a futuristic building like that.

Shop 2 and Shop 6 look really cool. It has a very futuristic style. With the locations you've put them in though, I don't think I'll be able to buy any of your cool stuff. lol
I have an idea, you should make a line of wedding dresses. If I have the money, I'll ask you in my future to make me one. haha.

The design and layout is unique and modern and I love the amount of natural light you get from the window space. Shop 8 is no doubt my favorite though I feel it would be a pain to maintain. One thing I notice about shop 1, 5, and 7 is that they aren't accessible to everyone. I suggest thinking about a way to inappropriate a ramp so people of all ages and movement abilities can have equal access to your lovely stores. You will want to research the degree the slope must be to get an idea for how long it will be to make it to your doors. The last thing you'll want to do is have everything built or in the building phase then have to add one. If you can think about it now and incorporated it into your design it won't look like a last thought and distract from your fantastic architecture.
