Yeeeeeeaah!
This is my VERY FIRST OFFICIAL creation! Made in real!
Here you can find the sketch: [link]
This skirt is a gift I made for :iconinu-p: 's birthday <3 She's the girl in the pictures! She's my best friend/sister and favourite artist~
This took me three days of work and 7 meters of fabric!

OK, I'm going to write a critique but beware that I'm not a designer or professional in the field. I'm just going to write from the perspective of someone that may be looking for a dress to buy.
First of all I'm the kind of person that likes to wear moderately loose clothes, and that´s usually one my first criteria when looking for clothing. I like that the dress does not look asphyxiating, but I would like the waistband to be a bit tighter or maybe made of some fabric that would fall the same way as the top (does that make sense?). It kinda gives me the feeling that the top and the bottom part are two separate things.
About the bottom part of the dress: I love it! Some details: the rose in the back I'd like it at the waist. And maybe the black fabric could be replaced by some fabric that does not retain the wrinkles. I would not like to sit down and have wrinkles on my dress once I get up ^^
All that being said, please don't feel like I'm "destroying" your work or anything like that. My mom used to make clothes at home and I know is very hard sometimes. Hope you do more stuff, maybe your friend would like to be your model again :D
Good job!!

The design of the skirt is without a doubt very ambitious and we can immediately see the amount of care and effort you've put into the concept. The layering as well as the embellishments give the garment a very rich, decadent look that is immediately reminiscent of neo-victorian or romantic goth fashion.

That being said, there are some shortcomings in the construction of the piece that take away from its overall presentation. To begin with, the waistband is a little loose and the four gold buttons seem a little bit out-of-place on the otherwise all-black skirt you've made (also it doesn't quite match the overall aesthetic).
The draping of the layers can also do with a little work (or maybe it's simply a case of a want of ironing) and the overall shape is somewhat awkward in that it's not nearly as flared as what you had drawn in the concept picture and to be frank, it's somewhat lumpy (particularly in the gathering of the first skirt layer).
The placement of the bow is a little low, and I personally think that it's a little big (but this is more personal preference than anything). The rose in the middle is a nice touch though.
I'm not a big fan of neither the fabric nor the lace you decided to use. I feel like if you went with a slightly more lustrous fabric (like matted satin maybe) the overall effect would be better.
There are also a few nitty gritty details that I feel like should be pointed out. The lace layer doesn't look hemmed and the pleats on the bottom layer of the skirt look a little bit uneven. Also, the ribbons on the top layer look a bit droopy.

Overall I think that the skirt needs some work, but I also think that you're off to a good start! You have great ideas and you just need to hone your skills more so that you can make them real.

It's so exciting!! I think it looks a lot like the sketch :aww:

I read through the critiques and I wanted to say that I don't think the bow looks weird where it's coming out from... That is my favorite part! The back looks so professional and amazing!!
